Eat Fresh = sulit sarap... :)

Hello there! :)

We (Filipinos) really love street food... It's staple; It's a part of us... :) I'm an eater of fishballs to kikiam to kwek kwek... :) I'm not that much of a fan of "isaw" (pork intestine) and "betamax" (pork blood) not unless we (my family) made it [food safety reasons... :D]. Anyhow...

My friends and I had dinner together. Before we did, they asked me what I wanted to eat (cause I'm kinda choosy with the food I eat). I really didn't have a budget for leisure eating, so i told them that I wanted good food that's pocket friendly. I wasn't choosy whether or not we've tried it before... :) [What's to be choosy about, right?? I didn't know the place and I didn't have a budget anyway... :D Haha! #poverty :D]

Since we were with someone that lives in QC, she gave us several options as to where my criteria fitted. She told us that we could visit those places then choose the best option for us... SO WE DID! :) Actually... NO, WE DIDN'T... :D Haha! The first place we went to was where we ate... :D [Didn't really have second thoughts, probably because I 'm a sucker for dumplings and the like... :D]

Eat Fresh at Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Quezon City... :)

They had a list in their menu but I concentrated in the "tusok-tusok" first... :) [rice meals to follow... :D] Well, to start with, their idea is to re-create Hong Kong's Famous Street Foods; having Hong Kong style noodles with several choices of skewers (served either deep fried or with curry sauce). Given that, I requested mine to be deep fried then I asked for curry sauce... :D Haha! #bestOFbothWORLDS :D

Enough with the talking, right?? :) Please find below photos with comments... :)

*Dama Balls (mushroom and sotanghon balls) - uniquely different (in a good way) :D*
*Crab Egg Roll - Ahhhhh.... So yummy... :) Love the distinct taste and texture! :D [My second favorite]*
#twothumbsup :)
*Scallops - Delicately yummy! :) Tastes like real scallops! :D [My third favorite]*
*Lobster Cheese - OMGOMGOMG!!! THE BEST!!! Love every bite! :D TRY IT!!!*
#heavenonearth :D
*Peanut Sauce - Great tasting... :) Compliments the noodles so much! :) Best body for the noodles... :)*
*Sweet Sauce - Great mix with peanut sauce and sweet chili... :) Adds flavor... :)*
*Sweet Chili - Adds sweetness with a hint of HOTNESS... Haha! :)
*Hong Kong Style Noodles - I love the sesame seeds with the stir-fried noodles! :)*
[The sauce used for the noodles tastes neutral which made it great for the variety of skewers they offer.]
#goodjob :)
*Curry Sauce (accompaniment of skewers) - SOOOOoooo flavorful! :D I LOVE IT!!! :)*
[If the curry sauce was thicker, It would really be the BOMB! :)]
*Pancakes - texture of "puto", but waffle like in flavor... :) I like it... :) It's a nice dessert for the curry... :D*
*1 Liter of Gulaman (Hong Kong Style) - the extract gave it a unique flavor... :)*
#goodjob :D

Until next time! :) Enjoy and God bless! :)

YABU in TOWN @ Yabu: The House of Katsu

Hello there! :)

"The word katsu is an abbreviation of the word "Katsuretsu", which means "cutlet". It generally refers to a sliced piece of meat that is breaded and deep-fried. The dish was introduced to Japanese culture in the late 19th century during the Meiji period when Japan opened its doors to Western culture. in the beginning, beef cutlets were used, but pork eventually became the more popular choice of meat by the 1900s, eventually giving rise to dishes such as tonkatsu ("ton" is Japanese for "pork").          Reference: http://www.yabuhouseofkatsu.com/

I like exploring to know where to get GREAT food. My favorite Japanese restaurant is Nihonbashitei @ Makati. I've tried a bunch of other Japanese restaurants already, and believe me when I say that even though Jap Cuisine is on top of my list, "a" japanese restaurant almost flushed that cuisine down the drain (exaggeration. :D jap cuisine is too precious to be ruined by an experience in a restaurant). Kidding aside, "that" experience really sank to the bottom of my list.

Going back to Yabu, I really like the place (the ambiance is so soothing), service (super friendly and all-smiling people), and food (QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY!!! <3); a bit expensive but with the quality of the food you're getting, IT'S WORTH EVERY PESO!!!

Ordered fish fillet and pork tonkatsu.

First, the self-making sauce is quite an ice breaker... :) Really interactive... :) #goodjob

Next, the best unlimited rice in Megamall... #supersoftRAP-SA

Next, their miso soup... #itssofine

Next, their unlimited cabbage (great with their unli sesame sauce)... #itssuperfresh #sesamedressingTHEBEST

Next, Yabu's version of Pork Tonkatsu... #TENDERandCRISP

Last, but not the least, Yabu's melts-in-your-mouth Fish Fillet! <3 <3 <3 #THEBESTamongTHEREST

I'll be back... :D

Until next time! :) Enjoy and God bless! :)
